Jim Gallein

Jim is the driver who gives a ride to  McCandless in Alaska. he was a union electrician who saw McCandless on his way to Anchorage and was probably the last person who saw him before his tragically death.. On the way to McCandleess' destination into the Alaskan wilderness, they had a meaningful conversation, where Chris told Gallien about his plans of staying in the wilderness by himself and simply living of on nature. Jim was totally astonished by his decision. He looked at his equipment and thought he was fully unprepared. " He wasn't carrying anywhere as much food and gear as you'd expect a guy to be carrying for that kind of trip" says Gallien. Throughout the trip Gallien tried to support Chris with different equipment , which of course was being rejected. finally he dropped off Chris and on his way back he said " I figured he'd be OK, I thought he's probably get hungry pretty quick and just walk out to the highway. That's what any normal person would do." Gallien though Chris wasn't going to handle for a long time.
At the beginning when Chris told Galiien his plans he thought he was totally insane , but of course his mind perspective changed. Chris changed his perspective. Because at the end of the chapter Gallien was convinced that Chris was going to be OK.

  1. Several mistakes were made, also make sure to put the page number after you quote something from the book. Overall the information given was very detailed and it gave real insights about their conversation.
